E for Echo
How to Win
As a follow up to their debut EP 'Dreamers', E for Echo recently dropped their sophomore EP ‘How To Win’.
The title track tells the universal tale of working an uninspiring job to fund creativity, hopeful that one day the art itself will be enough to survive. How To Win delves deep into those struggles that come with trying to exist in a society driven by money and profit.
Their last single Talk Don't Talk was premiered on FBi radio, premiered online with Music Feeds and was added to rotation on 2SER.
E for Echo’s sound is awash with dream-pop soundscapes that dip deep below the surface into expansive intensity, growing from years of collaboration between Jenna and Zana. In 2016 they gave themselves the next logical push, into the warm embrace of a full band. The group are now gaining a wide audience and stellar reputation for their dynamic and engaging live shows.
E for Echo have had an exciting year to date, accumulating +12K streams on Spotify alone, playing with The Jezabel's and launching Talk Don't Talk last month at a sold out show at Oxford Art Factory. Talk Don't Talk was produced by the band, was recorded and mixed by Simon Berckelman at Golden Retriever Studios (Architecture in Helsinki, The Internet) and mastered by Nick Franklin (Clews).
The Sydney 4-piece is made up of Jenna Murphy (vox/electric guitar), Zana Rose (vox, electric piano, synths), James McKenna (bass guitar), and Marc Watson (beats and samples).
The video for How To Win premiered at Golden Age cinema as part of the Clipped TV music video series on August 20th 2019

“The video, inspired by the song’s lyrics, is a huge shout out to the working creatives of a city, especially those who become invisible in their day jobs,” says the video’s director Natalia Cartney.
“Cities often have creative hubs where a lot of artists live or go to perform. That community is so essential, where people live out their truest lives, inspiring and supporting each other, struggling and making sacrifices.”
E for Echo have had a pretty good run this year, launching single ‘Talk Don’t Talk’ back in July at Oxford Art Factory and releasing the How To Win EP earlier this month, produced by the band themselves.
